He asked a simple question, but the answer seems likely disturbing my mind!

I had a plant pathology class today and my lecturer told us about Control of Plant Disease. He had asked a question to us that somehow seems interesting to me.

He said that there are two types of fungicides used to kill fungi (disease-cause pathogen) which are protective fungicides and systemic fungicides. Under protective fungicides, there are two kinds of it – Non-organic and Organic.

Now, here’s the question.

What is the difference between non-organic and organic?

And of course this question is pretty easy for most of us because we are all already studied chemistry during our foundation or matriculation year.

“Organic compound is a compound that contains carbon.”
“Organic compound is the compound that can be synthesised by organisms.”

The answers from us.

But he said that

“The true difference of organic and non-organic compound is that organic compounds can be decomposed naturally by the soil while non-organic compound cannot.

If I take an example, I throw a piece leaf on the soil and leave it for several weeks, it will decomposed into the soil. Of course, because leaf consists of organic compound and have carbon backbones in it. But if I throw a table on the soil (he pointed at the table near him), it takes forever for it to be decomposed into the soil.(class cuckles)

Same as us humans if we die, we will decomposed into the soil when we are already six feet under.”

Now that’s the point when I started to pause for a moment.

Because I remembered the teachings of my ustadhs (islamic scholars) from elementary school up until secondary school, they said that the matyrs that died because of fight in the cause of Allah (protecting the highness of Islam, protecting family, society and country as well from the attackers) their body will never rotten in the soil, never decomposed as Allah had preserved their bodies as a sign of His acknowledgment towards His righteous servants.

And also I had also read many works of classic and contemporary islamic scholars about Allah’s Greatness and His Powerfullness that behind any miracles that he had done in human history, from the story of the prophets to the current global miraculous scenarios as well can be proven by science!

We call it sunnatullah. Or logics in another term.

The physics is sunnatullah, chemistry is sunnatullah, biology is sunnatullah. All science disciplines are related to God Almighty. Because all of these natural occurances, these complex systems are created by Him alone. And if we are aware, they are all synchronizing harmonically with each other.

Remember the story of Prophet Moses (PBUH) with his fellow Jews being chased till the edge of the Red Sea by Pharaoh’s army? As stated in the Holy Quran, Allah had commanded Moses (PBUH) to strike the sea with his rod and with Allah’s will, the sea was separated into two parts and open an escape road for them.

And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: “We are sure to be overtaken.” (Moses) said: “By no means! My Lord is with me! Soon will He guide me!” Then We told Moses by inspiration: “Strike the sea with thy rod.” So it divided, and each separate part became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain. And We made the other party approach thither. We delivered Moses and all who were with him; but We drowned the others. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. (Quran, 26:61-68)

I bet you didn’t know that the historical, miraculous event can be proven by geographical science and other sciences nowadays!

From gravity of the earth, to the gravity of the moon, related to the ocean tides on the earth, the water molecules that have unique physical properties such as hydrogen bonds, the London dispersion force that creates (accidently?) perfect polar properties so that the water suitable for all life’s consumption and also very crucial for the survival of living organisms on earth. In fact, what was stated by the holy Quran over 1400 years ago have been proven by recent science discovery that all livings were created from water!

Allah created every [living] creature from water. Some of them go on their bellies, some of them on two legs, and some on four. Allah creates whatever He wills. Allah has power over all things. (Qur’an, 24:45)

Do those who disbelieve not see that the heavens and the earth were sewn together and then We unstitched them and that We made from water every living thing? So will they not believe? (Qur’an, 21:30)

And it is He Who created human beings from water and then gave them relations by blood and marriage. Your Lord is All-Powerful. (Qur’an, 25:54)

Now, all of these had proven that these words are no merely uttered by the man who were living in the middle of desert. But these are the divine words from God Almighty who created everything.

But wait

Didn’t the lecturer said that all living organisms including humans will be decomposed when they are died? But didn’t Allah said that matyrs’ bodies will be preserved perfectly?
What kind of chemical distinctions between bodies of matyrs and bodies of normal muslims bodies have?
Can this kind of miracle be proven with modern science?
I do not know.

Oh, before that, I have seen the real stuff. A body recorded for over 1000 years was discovered physically complete recently. And it happened to be the body of sahabah Hujr Ibn Adi (RA), one of the prophet Muhammad’s companions!

And behind all these miraculous creations and events, they must never contradicts with His own law of nature, though it seems miraculous, but it still follow sunnatullah, the knowledge beyond our knowledge.

Nevertheless, I believe that Allah can make anything possible if He wills it. Every miracles that human race had ever encountered always have wisdom and priceless knowledge behind them. The knowledge itself is a miracle!

Though that the issue has not yet proven with science, I’m confident that it can be proven if He wills us to. It’s just a matter of time.

Finally, I hope that this small article able to boost up our faith towards the existence and the greatness of the God Almighty, and might as well trigger our inquiry spirit to search for the answers. The answers are exist out there, still waiting for us to search them.

Verily, when He intends a thing, His Command is, “be”, and it is! (Quran 36:81-83)

For to anything which We have willed, We but say the word, “Be”, and it is. (Quran 16:39-41)

It is He Who gives Life and Death; and when He decides upon an affair, He says to it, “Be”, and it is. (Quran 40:67-69)

Wallahua’lam. Only Allah knows best.
